4C note: Hans Joachim Schellnhuber, founding Director of the Postdam Institute for Climate Impact Research and Chair of German Advisory Council on Global Change spoke at a major EU climate stakeholders meeting on the day after the European Parliament voted a body blow to the EU's Emissions Trading System and a week after The Economist published a study minimizing the danger of global warming. Schellnhuber's talk, responding to both challenges, presented the scientific evidence rebutting the Economist's claim and pointed out that any delay in mitigation efforts would be extremely costly. His 35 minute talk begins at the 25th minute of the conference tape, which you can see at: https://scic.ec.europa.eu/streaming/index.php?es=2&sessionno=f81dee42585b3814de199b2e88757f5c.
